Cops: Long Island Woman Tried to Take Drugs into Sing Sing

OSSINING, NY - New York State Police arrested 32-year-old Lacieta S. Winfield, of Roosevelt, New York, on Aug. 2 for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Criminal Possession of Marihuana 4th Degree, all Class A Misdemeanors.

Winfield entered Sing Sing Correctional Facility to visit an inmate and was subsequently found to possess marijuana, crack cocaine, and Buprenorphine Hydrocloride.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Winfield was issued appearance tickets for a later date in the Town of Ossining Court.
