David C. Robinson: Birdhouse Man

The former Ossining resident who built and sold birdhouses on Route 6 for many years, died at 82.

David C. Robinson, formerly of Ossining, passed away July 19, 2017, after a long illness. David was raised in Somers, NY by Pauline and Joseph Schreier. He was 82. Many knew him as the "bird house man" who would sit and sell homemade bird houses along Route 6 in Yorktown.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Amelia (Lobus); 3 daughters Celine (Ronald) Karabinos, Stephanie (Richard) Frommelt, and Sheila (Anthony) De Rosa ; 5 grandchildren Andrea, Eric, Adam, and Elaina Karabinos and Rich Frommelt, also his brother George Fiero and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2-6 PM at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining. The Mass will be held on Saturday at 10AM at St. Ann’s Church, Ossining. The interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Ossining.
