Deepening Cold, Blustery Winds: Hudson Valley Work Week Weather

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Looks as if we'll actually have five consecutive days without precipitation. Get the last of the yard work done and the decorations up, but don't be fooled by Monday's seasonable temps.

What's going to help us dry out will also make outdoor activities less pleasant: increasingly blustery winds and a steady drop in temperatures.

"Highs in the upper 40s to around 50° at the start of the week, sink into the mid and upper 30s by Tuesday and Wednesday… before possibly crashing below freezing for highs on Friday," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Temps averaged below normal in November and that should hold true through the winter, most forecasters predict.

At 6 a.m. Monday the NWS offered these unofficial observations taken during the past 36 hours for the weekend storm. Parts of Rockland and Westchester counties got almost an inch of rain.
