Dental Services Van Visits Ossining Schools
Mobile van provides dental care for Park Early Childhood Center students.

Ossining’s youngest scholars had the opportunity to have their teeth checked and cleaned by the Mobile Dental Services van on Thursday, December 15.
Park School students were excited as they climbed aboard the van, which was parked right in front of the school’s main entrance. The large, colorful vehicle is outfitted with all the same equipment as a traditional dentist’s office, but with the convenience of on-site services.
“We feel everyone should have access to dental care, and we are very fortunate to have this service at Park School,” Principal Emily Macias-Capellan said. “It provides easy access for families and breaks down barriers to transportation, scheduling and payment while benefitting the students.”

Ms. Macias-Capellan said the service is provided by the district at no cost to families and wants to make sure parents understand their children “can receive the care they need just like anyone else.”
Part of Open Door Family Medical Center, the Mobile Dental Services van has been coming to Ossining schools since 2015.

“This is a very important service which I think is the future of healthcare,” said Dentist Ben Geisler. “Parents don’t have to take time off work and kids don’t to miss a half day of school—we bring dental services directly to them.”
