
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The delicious fried sugary glory that is the donut is surely something to celebrate. We do it every year on the first Friday of June.
The folks at the Westchester Balloon Company in Croton picked their favorite, iced with sprinkles, for a June 7 decoration at a local donut shop.

"The original glazed donut has remained the favorite throughout history. These come in fry cakes or raised yeast varieties and even in twists, but the shape doesn’t seem to matter," says Shipley Donuts, which offers recipes for glazing your own.
Donut folks celebrate every year. For example, fast-food giant Dunkin' Donuts, retail giant Walmart, and specialty giant Krispy Kreme are celebrating by offering customers a free donut (while supplies last). People magazine has a list.
