The Greater Ossining Chamber URGES Local Business and Community Presence at Tonight’s Village Board Meeting

Chamber Opposses Roundabout Proposal for Main Street

(OSSINING, NY) The agenda for tonight’s Village Board meeting will include voting on a resolution that will lead to:
“The construction of improvements at the intersection of Spring Street and Main Street in and for the Village of Ossining, Westchester County, New York, including construction of a roundabout, as well as sidewalks, curbs, gutters, drainage, landscaping, grading or improving rights-of-way and other improvements and costs incidental thereto, is hereby authorized, subject to permissive referendum, at a maximum estimated cost of $500,000” (Village Board Agenda released February 1, 2017).
The construction of a Roundabout at the Historic Five Corners on Main & Spring Streets and Central Avenue will be:
 Detrimental to local business, at the cost of taxpayers, dangerous to pedestrians, at the loss of already meager parking spaces.
 In the short term: displacing the Village Fair, Portugese Festival, and Farmer’s Market.
PAY ATTENTION and be present at tonight’s meeting:
