Dorian Could Bring Rain, Wind To The Hudson Valley
Thunderstorms are in the immediate forecast. The region will get its glimpse of Hurricane Dorian Friday, the National Weather Service says.
The National Weather Service issued hazardous weather outlooks for much of the Hudson Valley for Sept. 4. The NWS has also issued a forecast about Hurricane Dorian's coming passage past the region.
Forecasters warned Tuesday night that Hurricane Dorian is now an imminent threat to most of the Southeast coast. The Hudson Valley region will get its glimpse of what's left of Dorian Friday and Friday night.
There will be another chance of rain, as Dorian passes well southeast of the region. Winds are expected to increase and become gusty, especially over Eastern Long Island in the range of 35 to 45 mph. This will likely set up some rough ocean surf as well.
