Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued Monday For Hudson Valley
More snow possible; wave of cold will usher in spring

The National Weather Service posted a new Hazardous Weather Outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties early Monday morning. They're still looking at the storm system that could bring us snow starting Tuesday.
Intensifying low pressure off the southern Mid Atlantic coast will likely bring accumulating snow from late Tuesday night into Wednesday evening. Depending on the eventual track of the storm, some areas may receive significant snowfall of 6 inches or more. This would be more likely to occur across central and eastern Long Island, but also cannot be ruled out elsewhere, mainly in the New York City Tri- State area and across coastal Connecticut.
"Our area will be on the northern fringes of this storm," NWS meteorologists pointed out. "The forecast is still very uncertain, so stay tuned for updates."
The current forecast calls for 3-6 inches of snow for portions of the NYC metro into Long Island; with anywhere from 1-4 inches elsewhere by Wednesday. Conditions will also become breezy Tuesday night into Wednesday, mainly for coastal locations. (Sign up for Patch news alerts to get snow updates straight to your inbox.)

How close this storm tracks to the coast during the middle of the week will determine whether the heaviest band of snow sets up along the I-95 corridor, farther inland or well out to sea, said Faith Eherts, AccuWeather meteorologist."Those with flights into and out of the major Northeast hubs should be prepared for possible delays and cancellations at midweek."
Hudson Valley Weather predicts the odds are against anything substantial hitting our region, that the storm will likely go out to sea. However, the systems are bringing in some frigid air, with temps struggling to reach the 40s in the daytime and dropping into the 20s at night.
