Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Putnam, Rockland, Westchester

Flooding possible with heavy rains

The National Weather Service has issued a notice about heavy rains overnight Thursday in Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The entire tri-state area is included.

"Heavy rainfall is possible tonight that could lead to area flooding...mainly for urban and flood prone regions."

The NWS says clouds will increase across the area today ahead of a developing low pressure system. The low pressure will bring increasing chances of rain from west to east through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be a few degrees below normal.
