Hazy And Hot In The Hudson Valley: Blame Canada
The Air Quality Index for our region Tuesday is 'Moderate.' Unusually sensitive people should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.

Hot and hazy, that's the weather in the Hudson Valley Tuesday and Wednesday. Hot — we'll have high temperatures around 5 degrees above normal, said the National Weather Service.
As for hazy —
"Hazy sky conditions that may appear are due to smoke from distant wildfires in western Canada that has made its way southeastward due to steering winds high in the atmosphere," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

You may be wondering why it appears so hazy in the Northeast this morning. It’s actually smoke from Canadian wildfires that is now “trapped” near a building high pressure system. Watch it shift around over the next 18 hours in this HRRR simulation. #njwx #pawx #nywx pic.twitter.com/fxvKcnpldZ
