Hudson Valley To See Light Snow Friday AM: NWS Special Statement

Drive carefully Friday morning, the National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Statement issued a special weather statement for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties at 4:51 a.m. Friday.

Light snow will continue to fall across the area through much of the morning commute, except east of NYC, where light snow may continue into the mid morning hours. Total snowfall amounts should generally be an inch or less. Motorists should be prepared for the possibility of slippery roads and use caution while driving.

After that, the Hudson Valley will be hunkering down in anticipation of a major storm Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, with a deep freeze after that.

"Our first significant winter storm in 2 months is taking aim at the Hudson Valley, and it has the potential to cause major disruptions to weekend travel plans," said Hudson Valley Weather.
