Jeanne P. Faranda, a longtime Ossining resident passed away on Saturday June 7th. Jeanne was born in New York City on April 29th, 1926 and was the daughter of Ivan and Elizabeth (Johnson) Post. She was 88 years old.
Jeanne was a graduate of The College of Mount Saint Vincent, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She later received her MS at Columbia Teachers College. She had a long and distinguished career as a public health nurse and nurse educator in various administrative and supervisory roles.
She is survived by her three sons: Tom, Jim and Joseph Philip; and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her son Paul.
Jeanne was very active, along with her husband, for decades in St. Ann’s Church and school in Ossining.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Dorsey. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at Holy Name of Mary Church, 114 Grand St., Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520.
Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
