Jeanne T. Rothrock, Longtime Croton-on-Hudson Resident

Mrs. Jeanne Estelle Tenety Rothrock, long-time resident of Croton-on-Hudson, died on Monday, February 29, 2016 in her home at the age of 90 years old. Mrs. Rothrock, the only child of John and Estelle Smith Tenety, was born on January 14th, 1926.

She grew up in Ossining, NY, graduated from Ossining High School and went on to work in NYC for the United States Rubber Company (Uniroyal).

During World War II, while on a family vacation to the New Jersey shore, she met a sailor on leave, Robert Stanley Rothrock from Spokane, WA. At the end of the war, upon his return, they married and settled in Croton where they raised their seven children.

She is survived by her children: Lynne Goodspeed of Wilmington, NC; Susan Rothrock of Washington,

DC. Robert Rothrock, Jr. of Croton, NY; Gwen Cianfaglione, of Croton, NY; Judith Rothrock of Mendham,

NJ; John Rothrock of San Jose, CA; and Richard Rothrock of Danbury, CT. She considered herself blessed

with 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rothrock was an active member of St Paul’s on-the-Hill Episcopal Church in Ossining and will be

remembered for her kindness in helping those less fortunate and volunteering for the Senior Citizens.

She loved nature, her family, and was thankful for the wonderful life she had been given.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St Paul’s on-the-Hill Episcopal Church in Ossining, NY.
