
Joe Rauschkolb, formerly of Ossining, died July 28, 2016, he was 89. He was born January 10, 1927 in New York City to Ralph & Julia (Schmidt) Rauschkolb.
Joe served in the US Army and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He received his Master’s degree from NYU and worked for the Ossining School System, retiring as Assistant Principal at Ossining High School.
Joe was a former Captain of OVAC, a former Captain of Independent Hose Co., and a former Battalion Chief with the Murrells Inlet Garden City SC Fire Department.

Joe was an avid NY Giants and NY Mets fan.
He was pre-deceased by his son Scott and wife Vivienne. Joe is survived by his son Steven and wife Toni Ann of Chester, NJ, daughter Kim and husband Jim Flaherty of Newburgh, NY, grandchildren Julie Rauschkolb, Justin Rauschkolb and wife Barbara, Melissa Flaherty, Jake Flaherty and 5 great-grandchildren; Leah, Emily, Charlotte, Benjamin, and Cooper.

He will be reposing Monday 4-8 PM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ossining Fire Department or OVAC.
