John F. Roe: Flew the Berlin Air Lift

John F. Roe, age 87, of Ossining, NY, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, February 26, 2017. He attended Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, 115th Bomber Squadron, during the Berlin Air Lift. He retired from General Motors, N. Tarrytown, as a Supervisor in Material and Production until 1993.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie C. Roe; his four children Kathleen Minella, Franklin, TN, Carolyn Roe, Philmont, NY, Barbara Roe, Alameda, CA, and Kevin Roe, Ames, IA; his seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Terrence Roe and sisters Margaret Lewis and Dorothy Wendell.

He was loved by all who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 3rd from 4-6 PM at Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc. in Ossining. The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 am at St. Theresa’s Church, Briarcliff Manor. The interment will take place Monday at Calverton National Cemetery.
