Laprea Education, Ossining Schools Launch the "Book Bridge Project"
Ossining, Tarrytown and Pleasantville Schools to Receive Over 50,000 Books.
Laprea Education, a local educational publishing company, has generously donated more than 50,000 books to the Ossining, Tarrytown and Pleasantville School districts. This significant contribution is set to benefit young readers and promote literacy in the community through the newly launched “Book Bridge Project.”
The project aims to address the gap in access to literacy materials for students, especially during the summer break. By providing these resources, the initiative emphasizes the importance of reading but and fosters a love for learning among young students.
In collaboration with Pleasantville High School's Functional Achievement Skills Program (FAST), Ossining’s Thrive Program, Sleepy Hollow’s Experiential Learning Program which assists students with disabilities in achieving independence, Megan Mastrogiacomo, Community Schools Leader of the Ossining Public Schools, Laprea Education seeks to enrich the lives of thousands of children with the joy of reading this summer.

“This project started with a phone call! I am so proud of how it’s developed into such a thoughtful experience for all participants. The collaboration of all districts has been inspiring and beautiful to be a part of,” said Ms. Mastrogiacomo.
Teacher Susi Wilson also expressed her enthusiasm and noted how the project will provide her students with meaningful experiences.
