Station of the Cross readings and reflections are made at each stop -- in the past, they've been read in English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Tagalog.

The crowd has been growing since the tradition started 20 years ago. In 2014 it topped 1,400 people, according to Father Ed Byrne.

The route differs this year from last year's procession.

This year it will cross Route 9 and head down Main Street, turning south onto Spring Street to Washington Street, then back north and west, crossing Route 9 again at Maurice and moving up Wolden to Ellis Place and back to St. Ann's.

Last year it moved up Route 9, turned onto Denny Street and wound through the neighborhood from Yale Avenue to Todd, across Croton Avenue up Clinton and back to St. Ann's.
