Letter To The Editor: Kesten Is A Principled Fighter

The writer is a resident of Croton -on-Hudson, NY.

To the Editor:

Robert Kesten has the experience we need in a senator. He has the skill set honed over decades of coalition building, grassroots organizing, fighting for human rights in this country and around the world. He was in Tahrir Square in Egypt as the Arab Spring unfolded fighting for human rights; he took a stand there when speaking freely wasn't exactly popular; he took a stand as a Jew when that certainly was not popular; he took a stand when being gay was brutally punished. My point here is that Robert is not afraid to take on issues. And he certainly is not afraid to take on Terrence Murphy in November.

Robert Kesten is a fighter and he is principled. He counseled the President of Ghana and helped with the integration of human rights into their constitution; he trained agricultural communities in our country; he developed programs in NYC for the disadvantaged; he has supported women's rights; he has worked tirelessly to give a strong voice to those whose rights are trampled on. Robert has fought for the rights of the gay community. Robert conceptualized a human rights education program that was adopted by the UN General Assembly. He traveled the world to advise countries on how to incorporate the essence of the program throughout their government, communities, and businesses.

I want the unique experience that Robert Kesten has to offer. I want him to represent me and my loved ones because he has the courage of his convictions, empathy for others, a strong belief in human rights which includes guaranteed health care, environmental sensibility and vision. Robert possesses a gift that allows him to connect his heart, his strength, his intellect to the issues that make us a productive and caring people.

Robert has lived the fight; he has walked the talk. He is truly the progressive choice you can make.
