Letter To The Editor: Re-Elect Gearity

To the Editor:

I am writing to urge voters to re-elect Victoria Gearity as Mayor of the Village of Ossining.

The relationship between Town and Village is better than ever because Victoria and I share a genuine desire to find solutions that best serve the whole community.

Last year we were honored with the Pace Land Use Law Center’s Groundbreakers Award because of our collaboration. A focus for our work together is on improving transportation that will connect the business, cultural and residential hubs of the greater Ossining community. We are seeing this happen for cyclists with the MOGO trail, and we are leading the region in exploration and grant applications for an innovative urban circulator.

Victoria and I challenge each other to think differently about how best to improve Ossining from a municipal function perspective. We certainly don’t always agree.

Victoria is a healthy mix of decisive and open minded. Her dedication to serving the Village, and passion for our community, make her an inspiring representative for Ossining in the wider world of municipal government and economic development leaders.

I stand with her.
