Letter to the Editor: Re-Elect Schnecker
The writer is connected to the Ossining school district as a parent, grandparent, former administrator and former board member.

Dear Editor:
My name is Felix Flores. My wife Maria and I have been residents of Ossining for over 20 years and parents of 2 OHS graduates. I’m also the grandfather of a Claremont student, retired Ossining School District administrator and former Ossining School Board member. Our family wholeheartedly supports the re-election of Frank Schnecker on May 16 th .
Ossining needs and deserves Frank’s continued voice at the board table. Recent articles regarding the full allocation of State Education Funds to our school district are a recognition of the work over the course of years, of parents, community members, educators, our school superintendent, Dr. Ray Sanchez, and Ossining School Board members. Frank Schnecker, has been in the forefront of this struggle from the beginning, and has represented our interests in the halls of State Agencies, the offices of State Representatives’, demonstrations advocating for the full funding we were legally entitled to, and at informing our school district community during Board meetings.
During the many years that I have known Frank and served with him on the School Board, he has demonstrated his unwavering commitment and dedication to the children of Ossining.

He works collaboratively with his colleagues on the board, administration, educators, staff, and community. Over a decade ago, Frank was among the first to advocate for Ossining’s equitable share of Education Foundation Aid which was realized this year with 100% full funding. His voting record and advocacy always has the lens of equity for all children. Frank has worked tirelessly and will continue to do so until the achievement gap and opportunity gap are eliminated.
He is a champion of engaging and meaningful curriculum, additional supports for students and educators, and access to well-rounded educational experiences for all students. We must keep hearing Frank’s voice at the board table and assure that his work on behalf of our children, parents, community and educators continues.
