Mass For Vera Kooney

Vera J. Kooney (Conte), a 60-year resident of Ossining, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the NYS Veterans Home in Montrose. She was 97.

Vera was born in Tuckahoe on May 31, 1921 and was the daughter of Leopold and Maria (Porrazzo) Conte. She married Michael Kooney on November 21, 1942. He predeceased her May 21, 1995.

Vera was a devout communicant of St. Ann’s Church. She was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker.

Vera is survived by her 3 children Rodney, Michele (Robert) Bennethum, Dennis (Kathleen); 6 grandchildren: Jessica Singer, Rachel Marino, Paul Kooney, Nicole Dinis, Tanya Jones, Justin Bennethum; 13 Great Grandchildren: Quinn Singer, Charles Singer, Thomas Singer, Henry Singer, Luke Marino, John Marino, Chloe Marino, Benjamin Jones, Alyse Jones, Colin Kooney , Jack Kooney, Matteo Dinis, Logan Dinis.

She was predeceased by her great granddaughter Maya Jones.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am at St. Ann’s Church on Wednesday August 8, 2018. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to National Organization for Rare Diseases P.O. Box 4110, Woburn, MA 01888
