It was heading to a power plant under construction in New Jersey to replace one damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

A massive steam generator has made its way down the Hudson River in an epic voyage from its construction dock to the electric plant in New Jersey where it will help keep lights on and air-conditioners running.

The generator, which is 130 feet tall, weighs 8 million pounds and cost $195 million to build, left the Port of Coeymans, about 10 miles south of Albany, Monday morning. By Tuesday at lunchtime, it was being led serenely past Manhattan Island by three tugboats.
