Mayor Gearity Gives Me Confidence About Ossining's Future
Gauri Gaudbhir: As a woman of color and an immigrant, I feel welcomed in Ossining, and that feeling starts with Mayor Gearity.

I was born in Mumbai, India, and raised in Connecticut. Growing up there, I never felt like I belonged. Now I live in Ossining, and I’ve found my place.
When I started looking for a home last year, I chose Ossining because it’s beautiful, affordable and an easy commute to the city, where I work. The first time I walked up and down Main Street I saw all types of people. As a woman of color and an immigrant , this matters to me. I know this is where I can raise a family and feel part of a community. I look forward to sending the kids I’ll have someday to the Ossining schools, which I’ve heard so many good things about.
Ossining is a safe, charming, well run village. When I met Mayor Gearity, I understood why. We crossed paths at several community functions. She was kind and personable, always positive, full of ideas for making the village an even better place to live. She instilled a sense of confidence in me about the village’s future. I support her campaign for another term, because I am here to stay, and I can’t wait to see where Ossining goes from here.
