Memorial Day 2016: Honoring Veterans with Discounts and Free Admission
From free admission to museums to discounts on the MTA, these organizations are taking this Memorial Day to say thank you.
Memorial Day is about more than just eating hot dogs and hamburgers. Many confuse Veterans Day and Memorial Day, but Military.com reminds us the two are not the same.
"Veterans Day is a celebration of those who serve and have served. Memorial Day is a solemn day and a day to reflect on those veterans and military personnel who are deceased," the website states.

Next weekend, in between the grilling, parade and a beach day or two, take a few moments to remember the members of the military, the men and women who died so that we can freely gather, take trips and barbecue.
Remember the sacrifice of the brave military members as well as their families— the widows and the parentless children of the fallen.

Many businesses are taking the Memorial Day holiday as a time to say "Thank You" to all the men and women who gave, and continue to give so much to make this nation "the land of the free and the home of the brave."

The Triumph of Hope: The Military Wives in Concert
Veterans, active duty service members and families get complimentary tickets to the Memorial Day Weekend concert at Carnegie Hall, The Triumph of Hope: The Military Wives in Concert on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 7 PM. Click here to sign up.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum offers veterans discounted admission and 9/11 family members are free.
Military members receive a $5 discount on admission to the 9/11 Tribute Center.
The Bronx Zoo offers discounts to active duty and reserve members. The discount includes free Total Experience Ticket or General Admission ticket and a 50 percent discount for up to three family members.
The Intrepid Museum offers active duty military and veterans free admission to the Intrepid and Space Shuttle Pavilion.
The New York Aquarium offers discounts to any active duty or reserve members, including free General Admission tickets and 50 percent off for up to three family members.
MTA offers fare at a 25 percent discount off the one-way station fare.
