Mike Risko Band to Perform at Waterfront Concert Series Saturday, August 5th
Proceeds to Benefit the Ossining Children's Center
The Mike Risko Band is performing for the Ossining Waterfront Concert Series at Louis Engel Park this weekend to benefit the Ossining Children’s Center. The event which will be held Saturday, August 5th from 7 p.m. to 9 pm features band members Mike and Miriam Risko of Mike Risko Music, Melissa Miser and Dr Larry Baskind, a Croton-on-Hudson Pediatrician.
The local rock cover band, considered fun and family-friendly by many fans has been playing in the area for over a decade. The members of the band strongly believe that music brings people together for the greater good and therefore they donate proceeds from several shows each year to hyper local causes that are meaningful in their community. Each year they do a show at the Ossining Waterfront and this year they decided to donate this concert fee of $500 directly to the Ossining Children's Center.
"We think the world of the Children's Center and all they do for families in our community and we are so happy to be able to help them,” said Miriam Risko. "We love the Ossining Community and giving back with music to this great organization is something we are really excited to do." The Mike Risko Band will play a 2 hour set of pop and rock music on at the Louis Engel Park. Families are encouraged to bring chairs and a picnic dinner to enjoy music on the Hudson River. Several food trucks will be available at this free event that is great for all ages. The band is encouraging others to make a small donation to the Children's Center to help this cause and bring more awareness to this wonderful organization.
