NYSP: Ossining Man Fired At Competitor During Taconic Parkway Race

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — An Ossining man faces felony charges after what police called a "contest of speed" on the Taconic State Parkway that turned violent.

New York State police arrested Andres Rosales, 49, on Dec. 6 after a two-day investigation of a race on the parkway Dec. 4.

Police allege Rosales, who was a participant in the race, fired multiple rounds from a handgun at a person who was driving a competing vehicle.

The shooting took place near mile marker 8 in Mount Pleasant.

Rosales faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree.

He was arraigned before the town of New Castle Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail Dec. 6. Bail was set at $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.
