She was a member of the Parker Bale Post Ladies Auxiliary, a parishioner of St. Augustine's Church and a member of the Golden Eagles.

Edith Elizabeth Carey – 100 – of Ossining, passed away Wednesday September 23, 2020. Edith was born in N.Y.C. on March 6, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Sanford) Garrett.

Edith was a graduate of Ossining High School. She married Charles Carey in 1941 at St. Augustine’s Church. She was formerly employed by Cambridge Instruments and General Electric Conference Center. She was a member of the American Legion Parker Bale Post 1597 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church and a member of the Golden Eagles. She loved shopping in Walmart with her grandson Christopher, who would always take her.

Mrs. Carey is survived by her children Timothy (Alida), Kathleen Smith, Peter (Sue), her sister Helen (Peterson), Son in Law Bill Schroh and Daughter in Law Carol Carey; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Charles, her daughter Sharron Schroh, her sons Michael, Charles, and Richard.

Visiting hours on Thursday 4-8pm at Dorsey. Funeral Mass Friday 9:30 am at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
