Obituary: Florence Gerosa

Florence Gerosa, a lifelong resident of Ossining, passed away on Friday June 26, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Florence was born in Ossining on July 23, 1936 and was the daughter of William and Florence (Mullins) Kear. She was 83. Florence graduated from Ossining High School in 1955 and was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining. She was a switchboard operator at the N.Y. Telephone in Ossining. She was a former employee of the Ossining School System. She enjoyed cooking, baking and both flower and vegetable gardening. She loved the outdoors and her many dogs that were part of her family. Florence was an avid Yankee fan.

Mrs. Gerosa is survived by her loving husband Joseph; her children Patricia (James) Murphy, Elaine (Charles) Johnston and Joseph P (Kimberly); her sister Joan Perno; her grandchildren Dr. Kelly Murphy (Matthew Manacher) and Danielle (Brendan Bonacum) Johnston; Great Grandson Chase Joseph Bonacum.

Visiting hours were held Monday 4-7 at Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc. in Ossining. Graveside service on Tuesday 10am at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
