Obituary: Gerald Ridenhour, Longtime Ossining Resident
He will be remembered for his caring heart, delicious cooking and hilarious sense of humor.

Gerald Ridenhour was born on December 9, 1941 to George and Alberta Ridenhour. He grew up in Albermarle, North Carolina alongside twelve siblings and many cousins.
Gerald and his wife Audrey moved to Ossining, NY in 1963, where they had their first of four sons and started their family. Audrey passed away in 1986, when Gerald then had to raise their sons on his own. He also played a huge role in all of his grandchildren’s lives.

Gerald drove trucks for 45 years and retired from Allied Waste Services in the early 2000s. He was known, loved and respected by everyone in the community. He was a true family man, dog lover and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. His heart of gold carried his family and loved ones through some of their hardest times, because he took care of everyone he loved.
Gerald passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY. He is survived by his four sons, Eddie, Billy, Darrick and Chris Ridenhour. Four siblings, and 57 grand and great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Gerald took place Saturday at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining, NY. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife Audrey at Dale Cemetery in Ossining, NY.
