Obituary: Geraldine F. Downey, Former Ossining Resident

Geraldine “Gerry” F. Downey, formerly of Ossining, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Gerry was born in North Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada on August 2, 1939 and was the daughter of the late John and Leocadia (McIsaac) LeBlanc. She was 81.

Geraldine moved to Ossining in the early 1960s. She retired from the Arlington School District in Dutchess County.

Mrs. Downey is survived by her six daughters Susan (Monty) Bradley, Linda (Drew) Barrett, Christine Dring, Sheila (Don Hirst) Prosch, Barbara Drahos, Janet Drahos; her four siblings Sandra Porter, Judy Shebib, Alanna Vickers, Kenneth LeBlanc; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her grandson Bruce James Dring and seven siblings.

A memorial mass will be held and announced at a future date.
