Obituary: Juan Sebastian Bernal, 32, of Ossining

Juan Sebastian Bernal, 32, of Ossining, passed away on Friday, July 26 at his residence. Sebastian was born on Feb. 22, 1987 in Sleepy Hollow and was the son of Micaela Benavides and Edgar Bernal.

Sebastian was a graduate of Ossining High School, class of 2005. He was also a former football player at the Ossining High School. Sebastian was a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Miami, FL, in 2009, where he received his BA in Culinary Arts.

Sebastian is survived by his parents Micaela Benavides and Edgar Bernal; his uncles Simon (Marianna) Benavides, Jorge (Doris) Benavides. Ivan (Sonia) Benavides, Victor (Daisy) Benavides; his aunts Nancy Garcia, Victoria Benavides, Teresa (Neptali Toala) Benavides, Marcia and Jacqueline Benavides; He was also survived by many cousins and extended family members.

“Sebastian was a very giving person, a wonderful son and his mother’s sunshine. He was always willing to help and was a great friend to many people.”

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc. in Ossining. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St. Ann’s Church, Ossining. The interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers mass cards would be appreciated.
