Obituary: Lewis Bentley Of Ossining

Lewis Bentley was born on July 8th, 1935 in Thompson, Georgia. He then moved to Sebring, Florida in his teenage years where he met his wife, Annie Pearl Bentley. After getting married, they moved to Ossining, NY.

Lewis was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always put his family first. He was a hard and dedicated worker for many years as a grounds keeper at the Briar Hall Country Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY. He was a very calm man that always went with the flow. Although he was a man of few words, his love for his family spoke volumes. Lewis loved playing golf and would spend almost every Sunday on the golf course greens. In his spare time, he liked to relax on his front porch, while eating peanuts, and enjoying the breeze. He also loved to watch the Andy Griffith Show, In The Heat Of The Night, wrestling, and other sports on TV.

On Sunday, October 13th, 2019, Lewis passed away peacefully at Skyview Rehabilitation Center in Croton on Hudson, NY.

Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Yolanda Bentley; his sons, Daryl Bentley, Mark Thorton, Johnny Thorton, Eddie Bentley, Terrie Bentley, Kunta Watson, Jonathan Holmes, William Bentley & Djion Bentley and a host of grandsons and granddaughters, other relatives and friends.

Lewis will be greatly missed, never forgotten and forever in our hearts.
