Obituary: Lulu 'Maxine' Carr, Longtime Ossining Resident

Lula “Maxine” Carr, a longtime resident of Ossining passed away in Beacon on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Maxine and was born in Alderson, W. Virginia on April 5, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha ( Webb) Smith. She was 92.

Mrs. Carr was a former seamstress at John Charles dress factory and a former Mail Clerk at Sing Sing. She was a member of the St. Matthews United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and caring for her family.

Maxine is survived by her 2 children, Catherine Shaw and Michael; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Francis; 3 children Barbara Hinson, Francis, Jr. and Jeffrey; her granddaughter Leslyn; siblings Clara Jane, Roslyn Smith, Frances, Howard, Demar, Richard and Walker.

Visiting hours will be held from Friday 11:00 am at Dorsey. The services follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment Dale Cemetery.
