Obituary: Nicholas Paul Sgammato, 65
An Ossining High School graduate, Mr. Sgammato was a music teacher.

Nicholas Paul Sgammato, 65, of Ossining passed away suddenly on Monday, October 19th, 2020.
He was born in Peekskill, NY on November 15, 1954 and was the son of Nicholas and Anne (Italiano) Sgammato.
Nick attended Ossining High School, where he graduated Salutatorian of his class. In Ossining, Nick developed his lifelong love of music. He graduated with his Bachelors from Columbia University and his Masters degree from SUNY New Paltz – with some time spent at the University of Miami in between.

He spent nearly his entire adult life – while proficient in almost every instrument - bringing joy to all with his guitar and voice. Spending over 30 years as a music teacher at the Round Hill Elementary School in Washingtonville, NY, Purchase Day Camp in Purchase, NY, and St. John the Evangelist Parish in Beacon, NY.
Nick was a lifelong fan of Jazz, Blues and Coffee and often to his dismay – the New York Mets.

Nick and his wife Linda were active members of Community of Sant'Egidio USA.
Nick is survived by his Wife, Linda (Sellick), his children Jessica (Paul), Ali (Robert), and Joseph. His grandchildren Adrianna, Francesca, Jason, and Zoey; and his siblings Sue (Michael) and Teri (Daniele).
The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining with interment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
