Obituary: Paul A. Caruso Of Ossining

Paul A. Caruso, age 64 passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021 at home in Ossining surrounded by family after a long struggle with ALS (Lou Gherig Disease).

He was born in New Rochelle, NY to Vincent J. and Catherine Caruso (LiMardi) and was the fourth youngest of six children.

Paul graduated from New Rochelle High School where he discovered a love for ice hockey. He was an active player for many years before becoming an official of NIHOA and continued skating until his retirement in 2020.

Paul received an associates degree in electronics from DeVry Technical Institute. He was a loyal employee of GE Healthcare Systems for 30 years until retiring in 2018.

When he wasn’t in the ice rink, Paul loved nothing more than a day on the golf course. He played with friends and in several charity events combining his love of the game and giving back. He was an active member of St. Theresa Parish and was an usher for 15 years. Through it all he never lost his faith.

Along with his hobbies of ice hockey and golf, Paul was an avid sports fan. He loved the Yankees, Giants, and Islanders. Countless hours were spent watching the games with his family and friends.

Paul is survived by his wife Jane (Raley), son Vincent (Rachel) of Briarcliff Manor, NY, and daughter Catherine of Houston, TX. Also, brothers Ronald of Southbury Ct., Anthony of New Rochelle, NY and sister Theresa (Bauman) of Rye Brook, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Association of New York.

Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday November 7, 2021, from 4-8 pm.

Funeral Mass St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor on Monday at 10 am.

Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
