Ossining Food Pantry Needs Help Coping with Jump in Demand
Help the Pantry help your neighbors with a donation.
Difficult economic conditions contributed to a more than 16 percent increase in clients served by the Ossining Food Pantry last year, officials said.
Unfortunately, donations have not kept pace with the rising cost of food needed to support the increased number of clients coming to the Food Pantry each week. As a result, the Pantry has had to make some difficult choices and reduce the selection of items offered to clients.
“Our donors have been very generous for which we are most grateful," said Marty Engelhardt, Jr., Ossining Food Pantry president, in a prepared statement. "However, because of our rising costs, we certainly can use more help.”
