Ossining Girl Scouts Support Ossining Food Pantry

Ossining Food Pantry -- Homemade Pies for a Happy Thanksgiving!

The Girl Scouts of Ossining helped usher in the holiday season by baking and donating 266 apple and pumpkin pies to the Ossining Food Pantry. The Girl Scouts delivered the pies to Trinity Church in downtown Ossining where the Food Pantry distributes food on Thursday nights and Friday mornings.

Martin B. Engelhardt, Jr., President of the Ossining Food Pantry states: "We are so very grateful to the leaders and members of Ossining Girl Scouts for this generous donation. It is inspiring to see young children and teenagers motivated to help feed our neighbors in need. The Food Pantry clients were delighted to have a delicious homemade dessert to add to their Thanksgiving meal."

The Ossining Food Pantry is called upon to feed a growing number of people each year. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization with no paid staff, relying on the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community.
