Those Officers provided emergency medical care until an ambulance arrived. The victim, Gregory Jackson, a 21 year old Ossining resident, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he received extensive medical care. For the past week the Ossining Police Department Detective Division has worked tirelessly to investigate this case. No arrests have been made but we are currently pursuing a number of leads and hope to bring this case to an efficient resolution. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call Detectives at (914)941-4099. All calls can remain anonymous.
Understandably, there have been questions about why information was not released sooner. We pride ourselves on being transparent and sharing information whenever it is reasonable to do so. In this case, it was necessary to delay the release of information in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation. Going forward, we will share information about this case as it becomes prudent to do so.
This incident does not appear to have been random and for that reason we don't believe there is any danger to the community. Notwithstanding, incidents of this nature cannot and should not be tolerated in our neighborhoods. We saw an outpouring of support this weekend during a candlelight vigil. We urge you to maintain that spirit. Thoughts and prayers are helpful, but we are seeking the cooperation and partnership of every resident. Our community is safest when we work together.
