Ossining Police Investigating Missing Parking Signs

Police said the missing signs were taken from an area covered by surveillance cameras.

OSSINING, NY — The Village of Ossining is missing some signs. According to a Facebook post Friday, the Ossining Police Department noticed that some parking restriction signs were not longer where they were supposed to be.

“Funny little thing we noticed …” the post said, showing a photograph of a light pole in front of La Isla Del Tesoro Bar & Restaurant on Main Street.

Police said the two-hour parking restriction signs that indicated people had to use the meter were no longer in place.

“We checked with Public Works and they didn’t take them down so that leads us to believe that it may have been a criminal act,” the post said, adding that detectives were on the case.

“It would be such a shame if someone were silly enough to steal signs in an area covered with cameras,” the post said.
