Ossining Police Social Media Empire Receives Media Attention

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube -- the OPD keeps expanding its offerings, and The Journal News has noticed.

OSSINING, NY — Perhaps it was the chartreuse Bread & Milk Warning the Ossining police devised for last weekend’s storm; perhaps it was because the new chief created his own twitter account -- the social media skills of the OPD have gotten some media attention this week.

It’s not the first time.

Patch wrote about the world famous social media studio inside the world famous Birdsall-Fagan Police & Court Facility way back -- in July 2015, when the department’s Social Media Division revealed its secrets after weeks of mounting anticipation, even hysteria.

And way further back, in April 2015, the department launched its YouTube channel.

The Facebook page launched in 2014. So it comes as no surprise that Chief Kevin Sylvester has started tweeting.
