Ossining Seeks Volunteers For District Audit Committee

Members should collectively have knowledge in accounting, auditing, financial reporting and/or school district finances.

OSSINING, NY — The Ossining Board of Education is seeking three people from the community to serve on the Audit Committee and assist in the auditing function of the school district.

The Audit Committee is composed of six members, including three trustees. They are appointed by the board to serve without compensation in one-year terms. The committee normally meets around three times per year.

Members should collectively possess knowledge in accounting, auditing, financial reporting and school district finances.

Members of the Audit Committee are officially school district officers. Each member must take the district's oath of office.

Committee members may not reveal any confidential information obtained during the exercise of their duties. Audit Committee members are subject to the confidentiality requirements of General Municipal Law and execute a confidentiality agreement with the school district.
