"My parents instilled their values in me, and I've tried my best to replicate them, aiming to be better than them. So, I always strive to make them proud,” said Juan. “It’s not always an easy journey, but you need to have people in your corner who support you and want you to excel in school and achieve greatness. My teachers and guidance counselors have always been there to help me. They really want what’s best for you,” he continued.
Emmett Hayes, another proud recipient of this recognition, added, " From a young age, I really loved school, and I had a passion for learning. I've always given it my all, striving to excel in everything I set my mind to. My passion for the arts has played a significant role in enhancing my love for math and the sciences. What's crucial is having people behind you to offer their support, being there to help push you, and to lend a hand when you fall.”
Madeline T. Cuddy, Ossining High School Guidance Counselor, emphasized the importance of programs like NHRP in promoting inclusivity and providing deserving students with opportunities they might not have otherwise.
"We are incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments. The National Hispanic Recognition Program is an excellent example of how institutions like the College Board work to level the playing field for all students, ensuring that each one has the chance to shine and reach their full potential," she remarked.
Ossining High School remains committed to nurturing its diverse student body, providing them with the tools, resources, and recognition they need to succeed on their academic journeys.
