Paul A. Gualano of Ossining Died at 59

Gualano worked for a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness.

Paul A. Gualano, 59, of Ossining, passed away on July 9, 2016 following a valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and died at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Martha, two adult children, Paul and Kristin, mother, Vivian, brother, Glenn, sister Nicki Kahn, and nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father, Clifford.

He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate education and held a Master’s in Social Work from the Columbia University School of Social Work. Paul worked at the Center for Urban Community Services, a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness, for more than 25 years and was the Chief Operating Officer.

A month before his passing he attended the ribbon cutting of a supportive housing apartment building that has 107 units, a roof deck, and outdoor patio. Paul was an avid Yankees and UNC fan, lover of traveling, tennis player, and hosted annual BBQ and softball games. He was an exceptional husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin, godfather and friend.

Visitation will be 5-9PM on Tuesday (today) at Dorsey Funeral Home. Christian Funeral Mass will be 10AM on Wednesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Private interment to follow.
