Prep For Back-to-School With Ossining Matters' Annual Run/Walk
Get your blood flowing for a great cause!

From Ossining Matters
Kick off the new school year — and Ossining MATTERS' 16th year — with a morning of fun, exercise, family,
community and tradition! The Ossining MATTERS Education Foundation 5K Run/2 Mile Walk takes place Sept. 8, at 9 am.
By participating, you and hundreds of other Ossining MATTERS supporters can help make a difference in the education of all of Ossining's students. While the event is timed, the Ossining Matters Run/Walk is much more than a race. It is a chance for Ossining residents to display Ossining Pride and commitment to programs that enrich our children's educational experience.

Just like the 2017 Run/Walk, runners begin at the Main Street Post Office, while walkers start at the Double Arches. Everyone will follow the path along the old Croton Aqueduct trail towards the Crawbuckie Nature Preserve, accessing the park via a path created by the Avalon residential complex. Walkers will venture into the complex before heading back to finish their hike. Runners will proceed a bit further north before returning to the Double Arches Finish Line. Be prepared, as it is a multi-surface course (pavement, grass, dirt and wood chip trails) of varying elevation, with uneven terrain, stairs and hills. Super Race Systems will provide timing for our runners.
As in past years, there will be a kids' festival (with DJ) for our youngest runners and walkers following the main event, plus an awards ceremony with medals presented in all age categories.
