Pyrotechnics In Ossining: Spike Lee Film
Lee has been filming "3-1-1" in the village, weeks after holding an open casting call in Tarrytown for people with a 70s look.

OSSINING, NY — Spike Lee continued filming his new project called "3-1-1" Thursday in the village with some pyrotechnics near the Ossining Community Center. The Ossining Police Department hosted a lively conversation on Facebook for several days based on its notifications about street closures and traffic detours around the shoot.
In addition to providing interested readers with the name of the project, another question the OPD's famed social media department was happy to answer was who was paying for all the police and fire deployment around the scene: The production company is paying.
Lee, the acclaimed director of such movies as "Do The Right Thing," "Summer of Sam" and "Malcolm X," held an casting call earlier in October, in Tarrytown.

He was also spotted in Ossining in September, at First Village Coffee on Main Street.
"Spike Lee's feature film 311 is shooting in a variety of locations throughout Ossining for a couple of weeks," said Mayor Victoria Gearity. "Ossining has many beautiful and interesting locations that appeal to production companies. Anyone who has visited Village Hall has noted the collection of posters of films and television shows that have come to our community. Our Village manager's office and the Ossining Police Department work hard to be welcoming to production companies, while minimizing any inconvenience or interruption for residents and merchants."
