Richard J. Fasciani, formerly of Ossining, passed away Thursday May 8, 2014. Our beloved father was 82. Richard was born in Ossining on July 9, 1931, the son of the late Carmine and Maria (Galto) Fasciani.
Richard was a graduate of Ossining High School, Class of 1949. He then served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a retired Sergeant with the Sing Sing Correctional Facility. He was sharpshooter, a member of the S.W.A.T. Team and also an instructor of arms.
Richard served as Commander of the American Legion Sing Sing Post #1123. He loved history, landscaping, the outdoors and all animals, especially his Min Pins, Toby and Taffy.

He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Yankees and the NY Giants. He cherished a trip to Cugnoli, Italy, in the Abruzzi region, to explore his family roots.
Richard is survived by his children Teresa (Ray) McLoughlin of Montrose, Richard Fasciani of Caynon City, CO, Deborah Fasciani of White Plains and Sandra Fasciani of Tuckahoe; his loving grandchildren Tara and Lindsey McLoughlin; and Dr. Andrew Fasciani of California and Dr. Dean Fasciani of Arizona; his loving sister Olga Hoffman of Pougkeepsie and his brother Carmine Fasciani of Naples, FL. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred Fasciani and Rudy Fasciani, and his sister Linda Galletto.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12 from 3-7 PM at Dorsey Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13 at 11:30 AM at St. Ann’s Church. The interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery in Ossining.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to The American Legion Sing Sing Post 1123, c/o Sing Sing Correctional Facility, Ossining, NY 10562; or the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 406 West 34th St., Kansas City, MO 64111, and will be appreciated.
