Robert L. Knox

Ossining resident passes away at 80.

Robert L. Knox, 80, passed away peacefully Friday, August 21, 2015, at 1:20 am at his home in Ossining, NY with his wife by his side.

Mr. Knox was born February 24, 1935, in Staten Island, NY to Dorothy and James Knox.

He worked as a Prototype Technician for Loral Electronics in Yonkers, NY and retired after 38 years. He had a passion for growing fresh vegetables in his gardens and canning the tomatoes for the family to enjoy. He enjoyed playing golf and family gatherings. He was very active with the Boy Scout Troop 145 while his three sons were growing up. Bob and his wife also enjoyed playing Slot Machines together at Mohegan Sun, Atlantic City and in Yonkers.

Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Kanski Knox and their children. Keith Knox, his wife Susan and their children Blake, Anna and Emma; Kurt Knox, his wife Jayne and their children Kayci, Kyle and Kaitlyn; Ken Knox, his wife Debbie and their children Heather, Ericka and Tommy; his daughter Kim Knox Birrittella and her children Stephen and James. He also leaves behind his brothers Jimmy Knox, Donald Knox, Douglas Palermo and their families. His sister Patty Werner and his parents, Dorothy Knox Palermo and James Knox, predeceased Robert.

Visiting will be held at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, 1300 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510 on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm with a gathering at Squires Restaurant on North State Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY in between the viewing hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phelps Hospice, 701 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591. They are remarkable people with so much love in their hearts.
