Weather Advisories Change In Advance Of Wednesday's Winter Storm
A winter storm watch was downgraded, a watch was upgraded and new advisories were issued. Snow is still in the forecast, along with ice.

The wintry event that is heading to the Hudson Valley Wednesday is a moving target. The National Weather Service has added advisories, upgraded a watch and downgraded another watch. Only time will tell what is really going to affect the region, but here is the current rundown weather-wise as of Tuesday afternoon.
The winter storm watch for Orange and Putnam counties has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. It is in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Heavy mixed precipitation is expected with total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of around 1/10 of an inch in the forecast.

Rockland and northern Westchester counties are now under a Winter Weather Advisory. It’s in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Mixed precipitation is expected. Total amount of snow will be between 1 and 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 5 inches. Ice accumulations of around 1/10 of an inch is also in the forecast, making the morning commute Wednesday difficult.

Southern Westchester is also now under a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Again, mixed precipitation is expected, but the total amount of snow is up to 2 inches with up to 1/10 of an inch of ice.
Difficult travel conditions will exist, especially during the morning commute.
For Columbia, Dutchess and eastern Ulster counties, the winter weather watch has been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory. It’s in effect from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday.
Mixed precipitation is expected with total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. Localized amounts of up to 7 inches are possible. Ice accumulations of up to 2/10 of an inch are expected.
Hazardous travel conditions are expected.
For all areas, motorists should be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.
