Shamanic Reiki

For many years I have been interested in Shamanism. The deep mystery of it fascinated me. For my birthday one year, my husband gifted me with three sessions with a Shamanic healer. It was a powerful and somewhat puzzling experience which peaked my curiosity. About a year ago I finally had the opportunity take a workshop that combined my years of training in Reiki with the study of Shamanic healing practices, and in January of this year I began my training as a Shamanic Reiki Master Practitioner/Teacher.

To say this has been an evolutionary process is an understatement! The deeper I go into this journey, the more I have become connected with the vital life of our natural world; the rhythms, the pulse, the subtle messages. Certain aspects of my life have become clearer to me, things that have been muddy for years.

It isn't all comfortable.

Some of it is messy.

I have been asked to let go of things that have become entrenched in my identity. Shown new paths, some exciting, some scary. What I get in return is clear space for new growth. It's all worth it to begin to know my self more clearly and, more importantly, to have the courage to share my unique talents in world.

Key to this evolution is the practice of Shamanic Journeying. A journey is much like a vivid dream where, in a deeply relaxed and dream-like state, we are able to "journey" to our sub-conscious mind. Accompanied and protected by a "spirit guide" (usually but not always an animal), we can see, sense or feel messages from our subconscious, things which may be deeply buried which are ready to be revealed for our healing. Some is profound, some is subtle. We trust in the Universe that what is revealed is happening at exactly the right moment for our highest good.

The practice of Shamanic Journeying has made a huge impact on my life. I am honored to be able to share the Journey experience by offering Shamanic Reiki Circles. Like Reiki, Shamanism is not a religion. In a Shamanic Reiki Circle, the Reiki energy provides deep relaxation and connection. Shamanic Journeying (a guided meditation accompanied by drum and rattles) allows us to go deeper, to take a Journey to our authentic self.

It requires courage and a desire to know ourselves more deeply.

It's worth the ride.
