Small Business Endorses Gearity for Mayor

I’m writing to express my support for Mayor Victoria Gearity.

I’ve known Victoria for a long time. Long before she was mayor, she was my neighbor and friend. I met her while I was working weekends at the farmers' market. There we would discuss what we loved about living in Ossining and what we hoped to accomplish, as dedicated citizens, to help our village grow and thrive.

Fast-forward about ten years, and I am now a small business owner in downtown Ossining. Opening and owning a business in the town I have lived in for 17 years is a dream come true. Growing up in El Salvador, I watched my mom work around the clock to make her businesses a success, and I try to do the same with mine.

Like my mom, I know that being a business owner is about more than just selling a product; it’s about bringing people together in community. On any given weekend, I’m thrilled to meet people from all over the world sitting together enjoying a coffee and seeing all of the great things that Ossining has to offer.

I know firsthand that Victoria shares my love of community and diversity, and it’s why I know she is the right person for the job. She is thoughtful, dedicated, intelligent and compassionate--all of the qualities I want in a leader. Oh, and I love the fact that my two daughters have a local role model in our village’s first-ever female mayor!

I’m proud of Ossining and I’m proud of Victoria’s leadership. I believe a vote for her will keep us all united in our love of Ossining. Get out and vote!
